Red Green Show Intros
Since the show began, there have been several introductions which have changed as the show evolved. I thought it would make sense to have those represented on this site as they are as much a part of the show turning into what it has become as anything else.

The Original Red Green Show Intro (1990)
This is the one that started it all, the very first intro on the show. What has always been odd about it, is that clips from season 2 (with all of the lodge members) can be seen near the end, and a picture of Harold in what looks like Season 3 clothing (red/green suspenders instead of plain red ones, plaid shirt with dark green instead of red/tan style with no lodge crest). It appears that clips have been added to elongate the intro after season 1, however I have not been able to find out why or what is different than that shown in season 1. Please check out my comments for the 1992 Intro for more on the mysterious season 1 opening.
The opening ends with a picture of the lodge and sounds of gun shots where the screen ends up with 3 holes before the 4th shot blows the screen up, ending the sequence.
The Red Green Show Intro (1992)
New for season 2, the introduction was amended with the rest of the changes to the show. You'll noticed a totally different starting with the letters "The Red Green Show" come together over a lake backdrop similar in style to those of Handyman Corner in Between Seasons 1 and 3. There are also more clips of the members doing things in the lodge like playing hockey. The main characters all have their own moments with the credits. What is unique is that every member is dressed in the same fashion as season 1 which leads many to believe that this was the original opening for season one which was edited significantly for syndication purposes in 1996 when the Comedy Network in Canada picked up the full series and also edited slightly for season 2 They typically would give credits to the most prominent of secondary lodge members who would appear in the episode. They also ended with the familiar gun shots with a flying goose backdrop, although unlike season 1, the "screen" did not break to finish the intro.

The New Red Green Show (1994)
This is the introduction to the show which started off the "New Red Green Show" years. The theme would start with Red (typically standing on a dock or by a lake) and giving his thoughts about something stereotypical of men. This usually ends with "it's not smart or correct, but makes us what we are". From here, they would cut into a computerized graphic of a busy city in the evening. The camera moves forward and over some buildings, smacking a billboard, the back being a "New Red Green Show" sign. The camera then falls down towards the ground level, turning around to reveal the city scape is a TV show set, with the back facing the lodge. The camera is over a lake and goes forward by a trailer, boat and towards the head of the lake which has Possum Lodge sitting in front of it. The "New Red Green Show" sign has stopped spinning and is above it, sitting on what looks like the back of a TV show set which has the outlines of city buildings and skyscrapers. Then it cuts into clips of the upcoming show where Red describes the upcoming episode and introduces any special guests (he breaks the 4th wall when doing this many times, including the clip below). Speaking of the clip below, this is the first of the Season 4 episodes, where Red explains that they are doing this new clip idea and why exactly they are doing it. This is unique to the starting themes.
The New Red Green Show (1997)
Changed again in 1996/1997 in accordance with changes going on within the ownership and production of the show at the time, it was decided to amend the intro yet again. This time the same computer graphics were used, however at the end of the graphics, Red would usually make brief, general comments about the upcoming show like " Here are a few scenes form this particular show" and "For gosh sakes, the main message being do not change the channel" and "if you want to get anything from this show, you've got to give it your undivided attention", while various clips of the show would run.
Note *** In this clip from episode 160, you have to forward through past the opening scene to get to the intro.
Duct Tape Forever
For many of you, one of the greatest times being a fan was finding out RGS was becoming a movie, in addition to a TV show. Below I have popped in the Duct Tape Forever trailer from 2002.
