Some characters on the show are never seen, but always heard. These characters despite never being seen, have a huge impact on the show. Therefore they could not go unnoticed.
Bernice Green
Bernice is the Red’s longtime wife. He always signs off each episode with a personal message to her about how he was coming straight home after the meeting. Despite some peoples opinions, Red really does loves her a lot. She’s very tolerant of him, and his lodge buddies and this is probably why their marriage has lasted so long.
- In season two Red mentions to Harold that the reason they got married was that she was the only one who answered the ad - in reference to a newspaper personals section.
- Later in the series (season 5 specifically, but throughout), Red also has mentioned that they knew each other from elementary school which puts her at roughly the same age as Red.In season 5's "School House Project", he talks about finding his old locker where he carved their initials which was painted over.
Moose Thompson
He is big, real big. And just as dim-witted. Moose is a huge part of the lodge’s daily activities, despite never being on camera. He is typically called upon to move something huge or difficult.
-In season 4 Moose gets upset about everyone calling him Moose Thompson and gives a service ad to Harold mentioning that he wanted to be called Moose Johnson.
- Real name is Mooseworth Hugo Largess
Old Man Sedgwick
Old Man Sedgwick is another staple of the Lodge’s daily activities and is often apart of Red’s stories. He’s been referenced to be older than the lodge and being one of the men who helped to build it. He’s also incredibly cranky and does whatever he feels like. Believed to be at least 100.
- His real name is Orville Lloyd Dutton Manly Alvin Norbert.
- He has a son who came to live with him in season 5, but went back to an old age home shortly after as they had trouble living under the same roof
- In season 4 it is mentioned that he worked for the railroad back when they used steam locomotives.
Stinky Peterson
Stinky is the smelliest person alive, or at least that’s what you would think if you were downwind of him. He is often a major part of the stories and doings of the Lodge and is usually mentioned in relation to how bad he smells during whatever is happening at the Lodge.
- Real name is Stephen Reichen Puanteur
- Is said to be able to make a skunk's eyes water
Flinty McClintock

-Has a daughter, which Harold expressed interest in during the earlier seasons and is the only woman alive outside of Bonnie to have dated him.
- He also offers an emergency crane business along with his scrapyard.
Junior Singleton
Junior is another one of the characters never seen on camera. Despite this, he plays a huge role in the doings of the lodge. He has horrible luck with women and many story lines with him include his bad luck experiences.
- Was engaged before Flinty stole his fiance in season 5 after he got his Trabant stuck in mud but would not have Flinty's emergency crane come to pull him out. Eventually Flinty did and took his Fiance with him.Buster got revenge by giving the old mud covered, broken down Trabant to the new couple as a wedding gift.
Buster Hadfield
Buster runs the local roadside service up in the Possum Lake area. With this, he enjoys participating in the regular doings of the lodge, despite not being seen on camera. He shares many traits with Junior and is believed to be great friends with him.
